Ubi caritas
I wrote this piece for the Onomatopoetikon Darmstadt in 2019 on the occasion of a concert tour to Italy. Since this tour unfortunately could not take place, the piece was premiered by the Mörth Singers in April 2019.
The piece is characterized by a single motif, which is introduced by the soprano at the beginning and then runs through all the voices and the entire piece. The beginning and end of the piece express humility before the presence of God, while in the more moving middle part the joy of Christ's love takes over and leads to the climax of the piece.
