Peace flows into me

For this piece composed in 2014, I used a poem by Sara Teasdale, an American poet from the early 20th century. I have already set many of her texts to music.

The piece is short but very effective, easy to learn and very suitable as an encore, for example.

Peace flows into me (by Sara Teasdale):

Peace flows into me

as the tide to the pool by the shore;

it is mine forever more

it ebbs not back like the sea.

Peace is in my heart,

it ebbs not back like the sea.

I am the pool of blue

that worships the vivid sky;

my hopes were heaven high,

they are all fulfilled in you.

I am the pool of gold

when sunset burns a dies;

you are my deep´ning skies,

give me your stars to hold.

Peace flows into me

as the tide to the pool by the shore;

it is mine forever more,

peace is in my heart.
